Stillwater Retreat

Nestled at the edge of an oak woodland above the iconic Pebble Beach Golf Links, this 2 acre property was reimagined as a family retreat for relaxation, entertaining, solitude and enjoyment of the expansive wooded gardens. Working collaboratively with Charlie Barnett Associates, BLA designed an integrated series of outdoor spaces and rooms to facilitate a wide spectrum of functions.

Bedrooms are connected to intimate walled courtyards for relaxing in a spa and enjoying the oak canopy above. Nearby, a wooden view terrace provides front row seating for professional golf tournaments and the serene beauty of Stillwater Cove. Core to the project is a central courtyard that connects the main residence to the guest house, encouraging entertaining, dining, outdoor cooking and gathering near the warmth of a fire pit and calming rhythm of water cascading down a tiled waterwall. In all spaces, the magnificent native oaks were retained and new oaks planted to provide shelter and shade, as well as ensure the long term benefit of this native habitat.
