Viewridge
Located in a Bay Area neighborhood originally developed in the 1950s and 60s, the Viewridge project encompassed a complete renovation of an existing home and landscape. BLA worked collaboratively with Feldman Architecture and design minded clients to reimagine the architecture and landscape of a midcentury modern home.
The organization of the exterior spaces take cues from the clean architectural lines and indoor-outdoor connections, creating a fresh unified design that is inviting as well as sculptural and surprising. Nestled into a sloping lot, the landscape provides multiple terraces for living, dining, recreation and quiet contemplation. Previously underutilized outdoor areas were activated as a shaded cooking and dining deck under the shelter of native oaks.

An expansive deck extends from the main living space, creating flexible outdoors space for lounging and enjoying the terraced gardens and surrounding oak woodland.
